Today’s main story: finish the cool crop harvest before the next heat, then do a quick moisture/cover check because storms are likely (high ~82°F, ~90% precip chance).

  • Overdue (do this first): Harvest Muir lettuce in Bin 1 (it’s flagged overdue).
  • Moisture right now: Bin 1 51% (Good), Bin 2 48% (Good), Bin 3 40% (Good-ish but the driest).
  • Upcoming: Pinch basil flowers in Bin 2 is due 6/14.
  • Open nag (needs closing): the orphan harvest task (“Harvest Teddy dill…”) still isn’t cleanly tied off in the log.

Want the fast harvest list for Bin 1 (what’s ready today, in priority order)?

Hi

Hey! What are you up to in the garden today—are you heading out for a quick harvest (Bin 1 lettuce) or doing a watering/heat-check first?

Hi

Hey! 👋 What’s on your mind today—any harvest you’re going after, or are you out checking beds for heat/storm stress?

Hi

Hi! 😊 Want me to tell you what’s most urgent to do in the garden today, or are you looking for help with a specific bed (Bin 1/Bin 2/Bin 3/Bin 4)?

Hi

Hi there! 😊 Want the quick “what to do today” for the whole garden, or should I focus on one bed (Bin 1, Bin 2, Bin 3, Bin 4, or Back Porch)?

Garden check: ✅ I’m here. Want a quick rundown of what’s most urgent today (harvest/cover/moisture), or are you just testing?

Hi

Hi! 😊 Want me to pull up what’s going on in your garden today (what’s ready to harvest / what needs attention next)?

Hi

Hi! 👋 Tell me which you want: a quick “what to do today” for the whole garden, or a spotlight on one bed (Bin 1, Bin 2, Bin 3, Bin 4, Back Porch, Herman Jr Jr).

Hi

Hi! 🌿 Want the quick “today in the garden” list, or are you sending a note/photo to log?

Hi

Hi! 😄 Are you looking to harvest something today, or to log a quick bed check/photo?

Hi

Hi! 😊 If you’re just saying hi, I’ll be here—when you’re ready, tell me either (1) which bed you’re going to check, or (2) what you want to harvest today.

Hi

Sorry — I couldn’t get a good answer just now. Try again in a moment.

Hi

Hi! 😊 Which should I do first: a quick “what needs attention today” overview, or log a specific bed check (tell me the bed name)?

hi

Hey! 😊 What do you want to do in the garden today—check/photograph a bed, or harvest/cook with what’s ready?

Hi

Hi! 🌿 Want to (1) log a bed/photo, or (2) get a quick rundown of what’s urgent today?

hi

Hey! 😊 I’m ready—should we check Bin 1, Bin 2, Bin 3, Bin 4, Back Porch, or Herman Jr Jr?

Hi

I’m here 😊—what should we work on: Bin 1 / Bin 2 / Bin 3 / Bin 4 / Back Porch / Herman Jr Jr, or do you want a whole-garden “what’s urgent today”?

Hello

Hello! 😊 Want the quick “what’s urgent today” for the garden, or are you about to check/photograph a specific bed?

Hey, how’s things going in the garden right now?
garden_snapshot

Aye, things are mostly steady, but there’s a couple wee nudges.

  • Most urgent: your Muir lettuce in Bin 1 is overdue (due 6/3).
  • Soon: pinch basil flowers in Bin 2 due 6/14.
  • Moisture: Bin 1 ~holding, Bin 2 ~good, Bin 3 a touch drier (~39%); Herman Jr Jr is critically low (~16%) — water inside.

Big enemy stuff: bolt watch on the cool crops with this warm stretch.

Want me to pull up Bin 1 details so we can harvest the Muir properly (and log it)?

What do you think about The manual measurements I’ve been able to add to bin 1
garden_snapshot

Aye—manual measurements in Bin 1 are useful, but only if ye treat ’em as checks, no’ as the truth.

Right now Bin 1’s sensor moisture is sitting ~52% (“good/holding”). Your manual Soil EC is 530 uS/cm and manual temp 76.6°F—that lines up with the summer pace. So if your hand readings were marching that same direction, I’d say you’ve got decent consistency.

Two rules for Bin 1:

  • Don’t overreact to one reading: use a run (same spot, same depth, same time of day).
  • When moisture and EC disagree, go by plant look + soil feel—EC’ll swing with salts/fertilizer even when water’s fine.

Ye tell me: when ye say “manual measurements”, what exactly were ye measuring—moisture %, EC, temp, or all three?

But what would be a good EC threshold to set?
list_gauges garden_snapshot

For Bin 1 soil EC (uS/cm), a sensible alert threshold is ~600 uS/cm (start paying attention) and ~800 uS/cm (too salty / likely stress).

Aye, but set it like a gardener: EC only tells half the story. If ye haven’t fertilized recently, a sudden jump past 600 means something’s concentrating. If ye have fed, the “too high” line comes sooner.

What’s your usual EC range in Bin 1 so far—roughly, like 450–600, or 500–900?

I’m just starting measuring it and wanna set some thresholds based on the plants that are in it
list_plantings list_gauges

Aye—Bin 1’s full of cool greens (Muir lettuce, kale, chard, radish) plus scallions/chives/dill/parsley/garlic, so ye set EC thresholds a bit conservative: salt-stress shows up as bitterness, tip burn, and slow growth.

Good starting thresholds for Bin 1 Soil EC (uS/cm):

  • Caution: 600 uS/cm (start watching, don’t push fertiliser)
  • Too high / intervene: 800 uS/cm (flush with water next watering, then reassess)
  • Hard warning (more than ye want): 1000 uS/cm (ye’ll likely be hurting growth)

If ye tell me what ye’re using for feed (none / compost tea / fertiliser type) I’ll tighten those numbers a wee bit. Which are ye using?

Go ahead and set the warnings for me as well as a too low warning
garden_snapshot
upsert_gauge

Right then — I’ve queued Bin 1 Soil EC thresholds for you:

  • Too low: 300 uS/cm
  • Warning: 600 uS/cm
  • Too high: 800 uS/cm
  • Hard warning: 1000 uS/cm

They’re waiting on your tap to save.

How do you feel about rabbits

Rabbits? Aye, they’re clever wee thieves. Like to nibble the tender bits when ye’re not looking—especially lettuce and brassicas.

If ye’ve got any gaps in the netting/fencing, I’ll have yer back: we’ll tighten it and do a quick “fresh damage” scout round the edges. Where’ve ye seen them—Bin 1 side, or the back porch?

Make a list of all the produce that is ready to be harvested
garden_snapshot list_plantings list_plantings list_plantings list_plantings list_plantings list_plantings list_plantings list_plantings list_tasks

Ye can harvest the overdue lot at the noo, and nothing else is flagged as “ready” in the records yet:

  • Bin 1: Lettuce · Muir #3881G (overdue — harvest before Thursday’s heat)

Everything else (kale/chard/radish/garlic/scallions, etc.) is still marked as growing/planned, not harvest-ready in the log.

Want me to also do a quick “likely ready” scout list (by typical harvest timing), or strictly what the garden records say?
